]]>Forgiveness is a powerful force. No doubt you are already aware of this. But we’re all human, right? Which, of course, means that we make mistakes. And sometimes those mistakes can cause pain for others. Or for ourselves. Well, what could be better than adopting an attitude of pre-forgiveness?
Just think about that for a minute…
As long as you are on a path of personal growth, you are always going to be trying out new ideas. From time-to-time, things won’t work out the way you hoped or expected. And you may be inclined to judge yourself because you didn’t quite live up to your own expectations of yourself. You may even think of yourself as a failure. This is bound to happen, wouldn’t you say?
Well, wouldn’t it be nice if you could be more loving and compassionate to yourself? Wouldn’t it be great if you could keep that image of forgiveness right out there in front of you—no matter what you do, or how things might turn out?
Interesting concept, wouldn’t you say? It’s something that David & Tommy have alluded to from time to time, and in this episode they take a deeper dive into this topic.
And who better to help them with this than the “Forgiveness Lady” herself, JoAnn Rotermund!
JoAnn has been on the show with the Soul Talk Guys a couple of times before, and she always brings a warm, loving attitude of forgiveness and gratitude that is totally contagious. So Tommy & David figured that having her on right before the holidays would be a great way to help you prepare for what can often be stressful time of year.
Consider the potential benefits that you might derive if you could develop a practice of pre-forgiveness:
Don’t those sound like great things to bring into your life?
Well, then check out the video for this episode and remember to leave a comment in the space below.

]]>All of us go through the Ups and Downs of the Spiritual Adventure. This is an unavoidable fact of life. Sometimes we feel the exuberance and excitment of making great strides; other times we feel the sadness or frustration of backpedaling or slipping into a hole.
That’s why it’s important for us to make time to remember the strides, the successes, the ahas and the wins. For when we do this, we can more easily see that we are all works in progress.
Yes, it’s important for us to periodically step back and see how well things have been going. Because, in reality, we are masterpieces in the making. Whether we believe it or not, inside we’re already Perfect; we’re already Enlightened. We’re already Life Masters. Even though we may not be fully aware of it.
Legend credits Michaelangelo with a clever response to a curious sculptor-to-be, who wanted to understand the master’s process. As the tale goes, Michaelangelo said
First you decide what you want to create. Then you just bring your hammer and chisel to your block of marble, and chip away everything that isn’t part of your masterpiece.
Whether Michaelangelo actually said this or not doesn’t really matter. What matters is the intention behind the message—
The masterpiece is already there inside the raw material.
Think about that for a moment. If you direct your attention inward, then you must realize that the great Masterpiece of YOU is already here just waiting to be uncovered and brought—fully formed—into the world. In other words, there is no need for you to reshape or remold or recast all that you imagine you have become into something different! You just need to clear away some of the clutter, some of the stone, some of the dust—and the Masterpiece will be revealed.
What a concept!
And where is all this clutter and stone and dust? Well, that is the product of distorted thinking by an ego-mind that truly believes that it is trying to keep you safe. It’s just a question of realizing the truth so that you can see what is real and what is not.
Clear away all that stuff and—guess what?—you expose the treasure of who you really are. And you become totally free to embrace your full self and to show up more fully in the world.

]]>Comparisonitis. (noun) The compulsion to compare one’s accomplishments, characteristics, attributes, etc., to those of someone else in order to determine relative ranking or importance.
It’s a pretty common affliction, the kind of thing that almost everyone experiences from time to time.
To be sure, seeing someone else excel at something can certainly be inspiring. It can move something within us that makes us want to excel in some way, too. It can be a great motivational force that stirs our own Heart’s Desire and gets us moving in a direction that may bring us to the next greatest version of who we are meant to be. And what a wonderful feeling that can be!
In this sense, looking outward and making comparisons can actually serve us in a good way. But the problem is, many of us don’t stop there.
Many of us are continually comparing ourselves to others, and what we seem to end up doing is forging a pretty strong belief that we aren’t smart enough, bright enough, healthy enough, successful enough, and on, and on, ad nauseum. Can you relate to this?
Consider the toll it takes on us when we compare ourselves to others. We not only feel separation from the target(s) of our admiration—which can instantly have us feel down and alone—but we also feel a certain heaviness or unworthiness because of our underlying sense of “lack” or “being less than”. And this can dim our inner light even more.
This week the Soul Talk Guys have invited back Shadow Work facilitator and coach Junie Moon Schreiber to help shed some light on this very real problem—and something that she herself has had to deal with as part of her own journey. As Junie challenges us to consider:
If we could see the beauty in each of us, admire and praise others for their gifts and then look to ourselves to see our own unique expression, what might happen then?
Indeed. What might happen then? Well, that’s exactly what Tommy & David intend to find out this week—with Junie's help, of course!
The fact is, it’s hard to see your own special and unique gifts when you are busy comparing yourself to others. And you know what they say, right? “Out of sight, out of mind.” Meaning that, as long as you don’t see your own qualities, you tend to forget that they exist. So it takes some effort to bring your awareness back to yourself and to re-connect to those gifts. So this week’s episode will be a lot about remembering who you really are.
Go ahead, see the beauty in someone else. But then remember that there is great beauty within you, too.

]]>One of the best ways to cultivate self-love is through a regular practice of conscious affirmation—that is, recognizing and acknowledging your power and magnificence, and creating positive assertions that help to deepen and expand the qualities and attributes you want in your life.
Affirmations are positive statements about yourself that you repeat—aloud or silently—in a deliberate and intentional way. It is well known that the things we repeat to ourselves tend to become firmly rooted in our minds as beliefs. The problem is, most of the things we tend to repeat to ourselves—unconsciously, for the most part—are generally pretty negative and disempowering. So, we can use positive affirmations as a way to reverse this thinking and believing process.
Of course, there is more to it than that—as you’ll find out in this week’s webinar!—but if used correctly, affirmations can really help to propel you in the direction of your purpose or of your deepest heart’s desire. This week, David & Tommy will discuss things like:

]]>It’s so very easy—especially during a time of year with so much emphasis on joy, giving, and family—to fall into the despair of how much we don’t have. The problem is, what we focus on, we get! Due to our tremendous capacity to create, what we humans focus our thoughts and emotions on attracts the same. So, like it or not, we’re in a fix!
“You mean if I dwell on things I don’t have, I keep getting more stuff I don’t want?”
Precisely! It’s a tricky game to play, that of creator. But let’s stop focusing on this for a minute and do something totally different. Instead of concentrating so much energy on what we don’t have—the money, the job, the relationship, the love—let’s focus on what we do have. Let’s remember how much good has happened and continues to happen moment by moment.
One great way to break free from the lack-trap, the pit of not-enough, and the quicksand of endless desires, is to practice a little…
Gratitude!
Some wise person once said, “Count Your Blessings”. Well, when was the last time you used some brain-space on that? Back in the day, after you made it through things like “I pray the lord my soul to keep” and “if I should die before I wake”, didn’t you also go through a list of thanking and blessing the special people in your life? Maybe it’s time to get back in the habit of celebrating the good times.
Life’s a gift…remember?
This week, David & Tommy are thrilled to welcome back Jo Ann Rotermund for a beautiful reminder on celebrating, rejoicing, and giving thanks for all that’s good in life.

]]>Many of us find ourselves caught up in an inner dialog in which our ego-mind wants to blame others for all the bad things that happen to us in our lives. And our attachment to pointing fingers outward keeps us bound up by the drama of trying to “get even at all costs.” What we don’t realize is that we are often just poisoning ourselves when we stay tied to this cycle. And this often leads to various forms of mental illness and can even manifest in physical illness as well.
Well, believe it or not, there is a cure, and it’s called
FORGIVENESS
For this week’s episode, we invited an amazing woman, JoAnn Rotermund, author of the book The Forgiveness Habit, to share some of her wisdom with you.
JoAnn has has gone through a pretty harrowing journey in her life, and when she came out of her dark pit of despair, what she had learned led her to become a well-known expert in the area of forgiveness and gratitude. In today’s program, she shares a little about her own life journey, and a LOT about what could very well be THE cure for what ails the world right now.
